At least once each month we get together to share time with each other outside of our strict work duties.
This meeting is free-flowing and open in format.
Here's how you can host one:
- Come up with your topic. Each host brings their own topic or reason to get together. Here are some ideas for what you could do:
- Group project unrelated to work, like cooking a shared meal or writing cards.
- Physical space check-in. This is an opportunity for each of us to share something neat or special about our physical space. As a remote team, this can help us get to know each other.
- Draw a Brave Card to start a juicy conversation.
- Show and tell. A timeless classic.
- Walk & talk. Take the team away from their desks for a phone-based walk and talk.
- With your session planned, make a doodle poll or send some slack messages to book your meeting. Recommended time frame is 30 to 90 minutes. More than 90 and we all start to tire from Zoom.
- With a date and time selected, name your meeting and put it on the calendar.
